How does a home vet visit work?

It’s very similar to a clinic appointment, but much calmer! We come to your home at a scheduled time. We can examine your pet in their favourite spot—whether that’s the living room rug, the garden, or their bed. We bring all necessary equipment, medications, and scales with us.

Do I need to prepare anything before you arrive?

Just ensure your pet is accessible (e.g., cats are inside and not hiding). It is helpful to have a clear surface like a table for smaller pets. If parking is difficult on your street in Sutton, please let us know the best place to park beforehand.

Can you perform surgeries or X-rays at my home?

Accepted Answer

We can perform minor procedures (like stitching small wounds or lump sampling) and blood tests at home. Major surgeries requiring sterile theatres or X-rays cannot be done in a home environment. We have a partnership with a local clinic in Sutton for referrals if advanced care is needed.

Our consultation fees are comparable to many brick-and-mortar clinics. However, because we come to you, there is a Call-Out Fee in addition to the consultation cost. This covers our travel time and fuel.

Will my pet insurance cover a home visit?

Accepted Answer

Most pet insurance policies cover the veterinary treatment just as they would at a clinic. However, some policies may not cover the Call-Out Fee unless the vet certifies that the pet could not be moved. We recommend checking your specific policy wording.
